I was really excited about doing Plyo today. Naturally, that excitement was stifled once I started the workout. Over the last couple of weeks I have been noticing an increasing amount of discomfort in my left knee. It feels like it’s somewhat hyperextended or just kinda loose. It’s hard to describe. Anyhow, I started the workout and about 3/4 of the way through it, I had to stop. I probably could have made it to the end, but I’d rather err on the side of not blowing my knee out. I popped a couple of ibuprofren, so hopefully that will help.

Kind of a let down, considering I am 2/3rds done with the first round of p90x .

So I had to make an executive decision about trying to work out over in Seattle. The thing is I had a buddy coming in from NY, so, blah, blah, excuse, excuse.. I didn’t do the p90x workouts, but did manage to squeeze to pretty decent cardio workouts. A 4 mile run and 30 minute bikeride. Not the best, but better than nothing.

Day 59, started Phase 3. I brought it. In almost every exercise, I upped my rep count significantly. Really noticing improvement in pull ups, which when I started I could only do 5 or 6, now I’m doing 15-20, depending on the form. It’s kinda cool to see.

I’ve also decided that I’m going to improve my diet over the next 30 days to see If I can make bigger gains. We shall see.

Nice Kenpo X workout tonight. Pretty easy and fluid.
Definitely going to add more cardio in the last phase. I did high knees in between as well. Just need a little more.
I do think I”m going to have to wear a knee support on my left knee. It feels slightly hyper extended.

I’m still burning the midnight oil, but able to get through it.

Started recovery week for phase 2. Yoga X went pretty well. My wife joined me, and made me look horrible cause she’s so much more flexible than I am.
I was able to hold poses longer, especially crane, and my flexibility is getting better, although my left hamstring is always so tight.
Core Synergistics tomorrow!

I did Ab Ripper X first, because usually my legs are dead tired. It does make a difference. I’m pretty much getting this one down, and am really forcing myself to work more cleanly, so the reps are quality.

Legs and Back – I let myself down. I was just so tired that I only made it half way before calling it. My body is fatigued. It’s disappointing, but still glad I was able to get as much as did done. The upside is my pull-ups are in the teens now, which is a far cry from the 3 or 4 I was doing when I started this thing.

Time for Beer and another long night.
